About Me
My name is Sarah Riddle and I hold a degree in English as a Second Language Education K-12 from Mars Hill University. Formerly an ESL and Spanish Immersion classroom teacher, I have spent the last seven years providing one-on-one online Spanish tutoring. My approach focuses on helping students build confidence in their Spanish language skills by sharing practical tricks and tools that make learning easier and more enjoyable.
As someone who learned Spanish as a second language, I understand the challenges that come with language learning. This experience allows me to approach Spanish learning from the perspective of an English speaker. My goal is to make the process feel approachable, engaging, and rewarding for every student.
More About Me
My journey with Spanish began in 2005 after a life-altering trip to Honduras, where I developed a deep appreciation for the language and Spanish-speaking communities. To learn the language, I prioritized building a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary, practiced consistently with friends, and seized every opportunity to travel. Eventually, I moved to Puebla, Mexico, where I did most of my classroom teaching.
Upon returning to the U.S., I taught Kindergarten Spanish Immersion and worked part-time as a Spanish interpreter for Buncombe County Schools. Since 2017, I have focused on online, one-on-one instruction, which is where my strengths truly lie.
These experiences have deepened my passion for sharing Spanish with others, and Iām excited to help students build confidence and achieve their language goals.
